This painting was voted Group Image 2019 for the group “The Unexpected Wordsmith”! Thank you, Jessica, for heading the amazing group! Thanks to all who voted for this artwork! The following is what I shared about this artwork on the group’s website on February 5th, 2019:
“Thank you for choosing my panda painting as the new group image! It is a great honor and it is much appreciated!
I painted this Chinese brush painting right before the Mid-Autumn Festival last year. It is an important holiday in China, and it celebrates the full moon, the beauty of nature, family reunion, and friendship. It is a time when children would go home to their parents and spend time with their loved ones. Bamboos and pandas are symbols of China, so I thought it apt for the theme.
In the spirit of the Haiku poem in the group’s homepage, I composed one for the panda painting:
Moonrise in the sky
Breeze, bamboos, and baby breath
Tender is the night
Thank you, and enjoy every step of your journey, in art and in life! “
